Get StatusRoute up and running in 5 minutes

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Admin access to your Monday.com workspace
  • Appropriate permissions in Microsoft Teams

Tip: Have a tenant admin perform the first installation and grant organization-wide consent so your teammates can use StatusRoute without additional approvals.

Step 1: Install from Monday.com Marketplace

  1. Visit the Monday.com Marketplace and search for "StatusRoute"
  2. Click "Install", select your workspace, and authorize the permissions
  3. You'll be redirected to the StatusRoute setup page

Step 2: Connect Microsoft Teams

  1. On the StatusRoute dashboard, click "Connect Teams Account"
  2. Sign in with your Microsoft account and grant permissions
  3. You'll be redirected back to StatusRoute when complete

Step 3: Create Your First Automation

  1. Open any Monday.com board and click "Integrate" in the top menu
  2. Search for "StatusRoute" and select "When person is assigned, send notification to Teams"
  3. Choose your trigger (e.g., "When person changes to Anyone")
  4. Customize your notification message using placeholders like {item_name} and {board_name}
  5. Click "Create Automation" to activate

Step 4: Verify User Mapping

StatusRoute automatically maps Monday.com users to Teams users when their email addresses match. To check if a mapping exists:

  1. Go to the "User Mappings" page in StatusRoute
  2. Look for the user you want to notify in the list

If no mapping exists, you can create one manually.

Step 5: Test Your Setup

  1. In your Monday.com board, assign someone to an item (or change an assignment)
  2. Check Microsoft Teams - you should see a notification within 5 seconds
